Please join all members in welcoming three new members to our club: Denise Daley, Mary O’Donnell, and Peter Woosley. They were inducted on March 1, 2024, at our Friday morning meeting by president Godfred Chongatera.
In an update to the Club, member Adrienne shared inspiring updates on the transformative work being done at Joe Howe School through the Partners Assisting Local Schools (PALS) initiative. The Club's dedication to the school has been unwavering, with significant investments of time and resources in various programs, including an impactful food program.
The Club needs a host family to host our inbound exchange student for ONLY two months. Hosting our exchange student for May and June would be an excellent way to see what it's like. Alice will be away for a few weekends at that time, too. If you have any interest, please reach out to Alex Russell.
In the heart of our community, Henk van Leeuwen stands out for his commendable work as the Executive Director of DASC in Dartmouth and a member of our Club's Board. He also rocks an impressive mustache—a symbol of his distinguished character.
Ah, tax season: that magical time of year when the thrill of sorting through piles of paperwork could rival the excitement of finding a forgotten $20 in your pocket! For those who get a buzz from balancing the books, it's a joyous time of year. And for those among us who contributed to the Rotary Foundation in 2023, here's a perk: those donations are as tax-deductible as a business lunch with a client who orders the lobster!
We acknowledge that our club is in Mi'kma'ki, the traditional and ancestral territory of the Mi'kmaq people. We recognize the peace and friendship treaties signed between the British Crown and the Mi'kmaq from 1760 to 1769. We are all treaty people and we have rights and responsibilities as Mi'kmaq and settlers alike.
