Blind Sports NS Open Goalball Tournament
 
 
Goalball is a fast-paced and fun team sport designed for, but not exclusive to, blind and visually impaired athletes. Goalball is played internationally and has been an official sport of the Paralympic Games since 1980. 
 
2016
The 2nd Nova Scotia Open Goalball Tournament is Nov 18-20, at the Citadel High Community Centre. This 2nd annual para-sport event, hosted by Blind Sports NS, is the only one of its kind in Atlantic Canada! Witness athletes from Nova Scotia and across Canada go for Gold at this exciting and unique goalball experience! The first game is 6pm on Friday and the tournament wraps up at 3pm on Sunday. Rotary Club of Halifax Harbourside is sponsoring this year's tournament also. 
 
2015
Blind Sports Nova Scotia hosted the Nova Scotia Open Goalball Tournament Nov 20-22, at the Citadel High Community Centre, where the NS senior men’s, women’s and junior teams played teams from across Canada and the U.S.  Rotary Club of Halifax Harbourside donated $500 to sponsor this tournament. 
Tournament Results:  USA White beat USA Red 10-7 to capture gold and Alberta won bronze, defeating Team Nova Scotia in the dying seconds of the game to win 4-3! Click here for a story on the tournament from the Halifax Citizen.
