2016 marks the 100th year of the Christmas Kettle campaign in Canada.  (St. John’s was first.)  Funds raised help The Salvation Army provide direct, compassionate, hands-on service to 1.6M people in Canada, restoring hope and dignity to those who might otherwise remain invisible in society.  Funds raised stay in the community in which they were donated. Donations are collected in-person at kettles set up in public locations and can also be made online (easily get a tax receipt) to support the Salvation Army's work through their downtown Halifax Citadel or north end Halifax Centre of Hope locations.

Rotary Club of Halifax Harbourside has for several years provided volunteers to staff the Christmas Kettles at Costco in Bayers Lake. Our Rotarian volunteers will be out again this year, on Dec 10 and 17.
